Introduction The conception of Agape' on the Bay came about from a very personal experience: The wedding of our youngest daughter. Our daughter did her homework. She spent hours upon hours searching the Internet for sources to provide the items and services that she wanted for her wedding. She made many trips from the Detroit area to meet and secure vendors. Her vendors came from Lapeer, Traverse City, Gaylord, Oscoda, and Alpena. The planning of her wedding was more difficult than I ever would have expected. The rentals (tent, tables, chairs, fountain, china, silverware, table linens, portable bar, and glassware) all arrived on time. The chamber music was perfect. The DJ was GREAT. The flowers were just "okay " (considering the cost). The dinner with NO meat (she's vegan-vegetarian) was again, "okay" (but outrageously expensive). The horse drawn carriage was perfect for guest arrival. Her decorator (Mom), once again had taken on more than she should have. Her wedding day was PERFECT. It was a beautiful, sunny, July day with a slight lake breeze. Her guests were very complimentary of her wedding, the house, and it's natural ambience. Most importantly, my daughter and her new husband, had created the wedding day she had always wanted. As they left us to begin their lives together, it was obvious that they would have the blessings of many happy memories to warm their hearts for the rest of their lives together. As for me, the learning experience was priceless... After careful consideration, we decided to take our family property, and turn it into a facility for weddings and events. In order to make your event experience pleasant and easier, we decided to: 1.) Purchase many of the items for events. High quality tents, tables, chairs, linens, china, silverware and bar glassware are now on-site. 2.) Incorporate an event planner service. We knew from our experience, the importance of event planning. This service is now available. 3.) Train staff to make sure that your day, from begining to end, runs smoothly. 4.) Integrate our provided services with local services for a complete array of necessary products and services for our customers. We have associated Agape' with professionals, who as a team, compliment each others' talents and create beautiful events at affordable prices. This team of professionals consist of: florists, decorating services, photographers, cake bakers, DJ services, videographer, ministers, caterer's, invitation specialist, vocalist, chamber music, bartenders, liquor suppliers, horse drawn wagon for valet, bridal boutiques, etc. A lisiting of these services is available upon booking your wedding at Agape' on the Bay. We know the local suppliers. We have seen their work and can comment on their work ethics as well as their personalities. We provide a list of these vendors for your selections.
